Itinerary

Description

04.30 am We pick you up from your hotel in Lima and take you to the tourist bus station. From there we drive through the Panamerican Highway south towards Paracas. It will take us around 3 hours to get there.

8.15 am Once in Paracas we will pick you up and take you to a local tourist restaurant for breakfast. Then we continue to dock for the tour to Ballestas Island on a speedboat.

10.00 am We will provide lifejackets and the guide will take you to an unforgettable tour along the Pacific Ocean.

Along the tour find sea wildlife and migratory birds in the spectacular Ballestas Islands. See many caves and arches eroded over time, which provide shelter to thousands of seabirds and sea lions.  Among the birds you will see, we can name Belcher’s Gull, Humboldt Penguin, Peruvian Pelican, Guanay Cormorant, Neotropic Cormorant, Red-legged Cormorant, Peruvian Booby, Inca Tern, and more.

12.00 pm The tour lasts about two hours. After a lovely voyage along the Pacific Ocean, we will continue the tour visiting the award-wining Julio C. Tello Museum (Mondays not available). There we will see exhibitions of pre-Columbian artifacts such as ceramics, textiles, stone tools, and metalwork of cultures like "The Paracas and the Nazca". The museum sheds light on ancient Peruvian civilizations' cultural practices, social structures, and artistic achievements.

Great experience. I loved the huge stones in Sacsayhuaman, and the mixed religions and tales the guide shared.
