Itinerary
08.30 am or 01.30 pm. Departing in the morning or in the afternoon this tour will take you to the highlights of Cusco city. On our walking tour through the historic center of Cusco, we will walk and visit streets, museums, churches, and Inca constructions.
We start from your hotel and head to the main plaza for more information about the place in Inca times. Then we explore the Inca streets towards Regocijo plaza and Casa Garcilazo, where we will visit the Regional Historical Museum of Cuzco. We continue to San Pedro local food market to find the most exotic fruits and products. Then we visit La Merced Museum to find the best of colonial art. Then we continue through Inca streets and palaces, until find the 12-angled stone, a marvel of decoration and architecture. We end the tour in San Blas , which is the artisans neighborhood since colonial times, with a lovely church and an astonishing view of Cusco city.

Casa Garcilaso:
Inside Casa Garcilaso you will find a historical museum that is dedicated to showcasing the history and culture of Cusco and the surrounding region. You will find exhibits that explore the pre-Columbian history of the region, including the Inca Empire and other indigenous cultures. There are also displays that cover the Spanish conquest of Peru, the colonial period, and the period of independence. The museum is housed in a colonial-era mansion that was originally built for the mestizo writer and historian Garcilaso de la Vega. Visitors can explore the historic building and see examples of colonial architecture, including courtyards, balconies, and frescoes.
San Pedro food market:
San Pedro Market is a vibrant and bustling food market that offers a wide variety of traditional Peruvian foods, as well as local handicrafts and souvenirs. Inside the market, you’ll find rows of vendors selling fresh fruits and vegetables, meat and seafood, herbs and spices, and prepared foods like empanadas, ceviche, and chicharrones. You’ll also find a variety of traditional Peruvian drinks, including chicha and mate de coca. In addition to food, the San Pedro Market is also a great place to find souvenirs and handicrafts, including textiles, ceramics, jewelry, and alpaca wool products. Many of these items are handmade by local artisans and are unique to the region.
La Merced Museum:
It is a religious art museum located in the historic La Merced Convent. Inside the museum, you can expect to find a wide range of religious artifacts and artwork, including paintings, sculptures, silverwork, and textiles. The collection is centered around the history of the Mercedarian Order and its role in evangelizing the indigenous populations of the Andes. You’ll see works from the colonial period and from indigenous artists, including pieces that incorporate elements of both Christian and indigenous spirituality. The museum is also home to a library that contains rare books and manuscripts from the colonial period, as well as archives documenting the history of the Mercedarian Order in Peru.
